January 2012 – Dr. Fraser presents the JC Stevenson Plenary Lecture at the Canadian Conference for Fisheries Research (CCFFR)
December 2011 – The Fraser Lab, including four student co-authors, publish their first research paper based on work started at Concordia University, in the journal Ecology and Evolution
September 2011 – The Fraser Lab welcomes Alexandre Meli and Mikayla Wujec, both of whom will be conducting BSc Thesis projects in our lab this academic year!
September 2011 – Welcome to the lab Matthew Yates (MSc)! Matthew has received an NSERC Postgraduate scholarship to study genetic diversity and adaptation to environmental change.
Opportunities
Graduate projects – There are no graduate projects available in our lab at the present time. However, our lab is always interested in recruiting highly motivated students who are passionate about conservation or evolutionary biology. Students interested in applying to our lab should send the following information via email to Dr. Fraser: (i) a CV; (ii) a cover letter with a statement of research interests and relevant background experience; and (iii) a copy of unofficial transcripts.
Undergraduate thesis projects (BIOL490) – Our lab is currently looking for undergraduate students at Concordia University to undertake BIOL490 thesis projects for the 2011-2012 academic year. If you are interested in any of the following subjects, please feel free to contact me via email: (i) evolutionary ecology; (ii) molecular ecology; (iii) biodiversity conservation. Students should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply.
